About AIO Weather
All in one — the weather, the radar, the warnings, and the people you care about.
AIO Weather started as a simple idea: most weather apps make you choose between a pretty forecast and a real radar, and almost none of them tell you whether the people you love are in the path of a storm. This one does all three.
What's in it
- Live radar worldwide, with the next 30 minutes of nowcast — available here on the web and in the app.
- Forecast radar from NOAA's HRRR model, so you can watch a line of storms move across the next 6, 24 or 72 hours before it happens. This is a Pro feature in the app.
- Real National Weather Service warnings, drawn on the map in the same colors the NWS uses, not a generic red blob.
- Hurricane tracking straight from the National Hurricane Center — cones, tracks, and a warning when one includes your area.
- Family Circles, a live map of the people you invite, with the weather where each of them is, alerts when severe weather finds them, and a nudge when they get home safely.
- Lightning alerts when strikes are detected near you, from NOAA's ground-based detection network.
- An Apple Watch app, Lock Screen Live Activities, and a Mac menu bar companion.
Where the data comes from
AIO Weather doesn't invent forecasts. It reads from the best public and commercial sources available and presents them clearly:
- Apple Weather and Open-Meteo — forecast models
- U.S. National Weather Service — watches, warnings and advisories
- National Hurricane Center — tropical storm tracks and forecast cones
- RainViewer — live radar imagery, worldwide
- NOAA HRRR, via the Iowa State Mesonet — forecast radar reflectivity
- NOAA MRMS — cloud-to-ground lightning density
Forecast radar and hurricane data cover the United States and surrounding basins. Live radar and forecasts work anywhere in the world.
This website
aioweatherapp.com is the desktop version of the app — the same weather, the same radar, and the same warning colors, in a browser, free and with no account. It exists because plenty of people want to check a radar loop on a laptop without installing anything.
The features that depend on your phone — Family Circles, notifications, Live Activities, forecast radar and the Watch app — live in the iPhone app.
A word about safety
No weather app should be the last word during dangerous weather. AIO Weather shows you official National Weather Service products as faithfully as it can, but data can be delayed or wrong. When a warning is out for your area, follow your local authorities. Please read the terms for the full disclaimer.
Who makes it
AIO Weather is built and maintained by an independent developer in the United States — a one-person operation, not a company with a support department. That means the person reading your email is the person who writes the code. If something is broken or missing, saying so genuinely changes what gets built next.
