Privacy Policy

AIO Weather is built to need as little of your data as possible. This policy covers both the iPhone app and this website, aioweatherapp.com. We have never sold personal information and we don't intend to.

The short version. The website needs no account and stores nothing about you on our servers — your last searched city lives in your own browser. The app asks for your location to show you local weather. The one place your location goes to other people is Family Circles, which is off until you turn it on and only ever shows you to people you invited. Ads on the free app and on this site are served by Google.

This website

What we collect

Nothing that identifies you, on our side. There are no accounts, no sign-in, and no database behind this site — it is a set of static files that fetch weather directly from public services.

Location on the website

If you press My location, your browser asks your permission and gives the page your coordinates. They are used to fetch your forecast and are sent only to the weather providers listed below. We do not receive them, log them, or keep them. If you'd rather not, search for a city by name instead — everything works the same way.

Stored in your browser

The site saves your most recent location in your browser's local storage so it can load your weather again next time. It never leaves your device, and clearing your browser data removes it.

Hosting

The site is served by Cloudflare, which — like every web host — processes standard server request logs including IP addresses in order to deliver pages and protect against abuse. See Cloudflare's privacy policy.

The iPhone app — location

With your permission, the app uses your device's location to show local weather, radar, alerts, local news and nearby places. Your coordinates are sent to the weather, news and mapping services listed below solely to answer each request — for example, "what is the forecast at these coordinates." Outside of Family Circles, described next, we do not store your location on any server of ours and we keep no history of where you have been.

You can deny location access entirely and search for cities manually — the app works either way.

Family Circles (optional, off by default)

Family Circles is the one feature that shares your information with other people. It does nothing until you create or join a circle and turn on location sharing.

What is shared, and with whom

Only with the members of circles you have joined — never publicly, never with anyone else:

Places and background location

If you create Places, the app asks iOS to notify it when you cross their boundaries so it can tell your circle you arrived or left. This requires "Always" location permission. The boundaries you create are stored with your circle. You can delete any Place, turn sharing off, or leave a circle at any time, and sharing stops immediately.

Who can see a circle

Circles are invite-only, joined with a code you choose to share. The circle owner can remove any member. Leaving a circle removes your location from it.

Advertising in the free app

The free version of the app shows ads served by Google AdMob. To serve and measure them, Google may collect device information such as your advertising identifier, IP address and coarse location, subject to Google's Privacy Policy.

Analytics

The app includes Google Firebase Analytics for one purpose: counting app installs so we can tell whether our App Store advertising is working. It reports app-level events and a device identifier to Google. It is not used to build a profile of you and it collects nothing about your location history or your circle.

Purchases and subscriptions

Subscriptions are processed by Apple through your App Store account — we never see your payment details. To know whether your subscription is active, the app uses RevenueCat, which processes your purchase history for this app and a random app-scoped identifier (not your name or email), subject to RevenueCat's privacy policy.

Accounts (optional)

You can create an AIO Weather account with email and password, Sign in with Apple, or Google. If you do, your email address and sign-in identifier are stored with our authentication provider, Supabase, to operate your account. An account is required only for Family Circles. Everything else in the app works without one.

You can delete your account and its data from inside the app — Settings → Delete Account. That removes your circles data, shared location, places and messages. Your Apple subscription is separate and stays with your Apple ID; cancel it in your App Store settings.

Push notifications

If you allow notifications, the app registers a device token with Apple's Push Notification service so we can alert you about severe weather near you or near your circle. The token identifies the device, not you.

Feedback you send

If you use the in-app feedback form, the text you type (a category, title and description) is delivered to our inbox via the FormSubmit relay so we can read it. The form does not ask for or send your name, email address, location, or any device identifier. Please avoid putting personal information in the message itself.

Data stored on your device

Your settings, recent searches and saved preferences are stored only on your device — and in your personal iCloud device backup if you have one enabled. We cannot access them.

Your choices and rights

Children

AIO Weather is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.

Changes

If this policy changes, the updated version is posted at this address with a new date.
